I have a little Chinese Crested that spent the first 3 years of her life in a puppy mill. They broke her jaw there and never got it fixed. I'm working with my vet now to decide if the pros outweigh the cons when it comes to fixing it for her. That's a whole other story but it gives you a little background on her.Her upper teeth and her lower teeth don't touch at all, her jaw is crooked from it. She can't eat regular dry dog food, it has to be wet down with a stew type food so that she can pick it up with her tongue to move it to the back of her mouth to chew it. She has trouble playing with toys because of this. (Besides the fact that she probably had never seen a toy until she was rescued by her foster mom and then when we adopted her.) Her favorite toys seem to be things she can smoosh flat and carry around easily, that don't require her to open her jaw much. I could sew it together but the material is pretty cheap/cheesy. It probably wouldn't last long even with a moderate chewer.Since I don't make $8 every 30 seconds I guess I can't afford to buy this type of toy. I rated it two stars because there was no stuffing for her to eat or for me to clean up. And because she loved it so much for those 30 seconds. |
