    5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Series !, April 17, 2012
    Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Iron Core Kettlebell (DVD)
I actually thought this series was a mistake. Four DVD's for less than $18 with free shipping ? I didn't believe it but it's true.

If these were poor DVD's then any cost would be too much. In my opinion however, these are hands down the best kettlebell instructional series available. Most of these kind of exercise series have either a sports jock, or cheerleader-type person acting stupid or babbling on and on, usually with some kind of idiotic commentary. Sarah Lurie's style is very clear, straightforward and without any hype or grade-school antics. She tells and shows you exactly how to do an exercise and demonstrates it. If you want a clear, solid and extremely well done kettlebell series, this is it. I shouldn't say this, but if it were four times the cost it would still be more than worth it.

My only minor criticism is that the vol. 1 and vol. 2 discs are mislabeled: vol. 1 is actually vol. 2 and vice versa.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, basic workout, January 20, 2012
    Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Iron Core Kettlebell (DVD)
I wanted a solid KB workout with good foundation instruction and got it with this video. I'm using a 25lb KB and even the 1st 2 "instructional" DVDs leave me sore for days. Haven't tried the Warrior or Bootcamp DVDs yet, but just the 2 beginner DVDs were worth the full price. No fancy music or camera work, this is as basic as it gets, but its a good workout in about 40 minutes.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program ( What's this?)
I don't know about you, but my household became consumed with Skylanders in 2012. It was not just a game, it was an obsession AND a collection. To the tune of hundreds of dollars, we grabbed every character that became available (and that wasn't always easy as Activision didn't do a great job in the supply department). So I was both excited by the prospect of Skylanders Giants and fearful of the financial commitment necessary to supply a whole new chapter of adventures. Despite my love of the game, I wasn't sure I wanted to go down this route again. But when I had an opportunity to get an early copy of the Skylanders Giants Starter Kit, I simply couldn't resist. Let me just cut to the chase before providing a more detailed analysis. If you loved Skylanders, this provides more of the same with some cool new features. More of a continuation than a re-imagining, this won't disappoint fans of the original because it sticks closely to the winning formula that made the original game... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Spyro's vs Giants Portal Differences Read Comments too for more Info:), October 26, 2012
    = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Skylanders Giants Starter Kit (Video Game)
I picked up the game with my five-year-old last week on launch day and we are thoroughly enjoying playing it. It's as much( or more) fun as the first and we love the new levels and characters we've played so far. I'm writing this because of the rampant misinformation in the game stores.

We bought the starter kit because the sales reps at 2 different Gamestops told us the old wireless portal had compatibility issues with the new game and figures. One guy said the Lightcore figures would not illuminate and the other guy affirmed it and added that you cannot play a legacy Skylander figure and a new giant on the old portal. I did some basic research without finding confirmation of this and figured for the small price difference and extra characters, I'd try the new Starter Kit. We currently own around 8 or 9 legacy figures and the old portal.
The Gamestop reps were wrong. I have tried both the new, wired portal, and the old, wireless portal. THERE ARE NO NEGATIVE... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Kids cant get enough!, October 28, 2012
    = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Skylanders Giants Starter Kit (Video Game)
My kids love Skylanders and so do we!

I have a 5 and 6 year old- While, the game may not very educational, it is very fun (even for us grown-ups).

The quality of this game from figures to the actual game is amazing-

From a gaming point of view this game has so much room to grow that the kids have hours worth of play and still are excited about the game. We tried other games like pokemon and my 6 year old had a hard time navigating trough the game without me standing behind him the whole time.

Yes, it can be expensive.. but I am a firm believer that my kids have to work for what they get- and with all the excitement even a year later- this is the perfect encouragement.

I think the starter kit is the way to go-

    1. the initial 15 dollars more will save you on batteries (new portal does not need them).
    2. You get 2 extra Giant Figures that are prices anywhere from 14.99- 20 dollars-

Money making scheme or... Read more
